Amenable Argumentation Approach

چکیده
This paper summarizes various interpretations of emotional arguments, with a focus on the mode argument introduced in multi-modal argumentation model (Gilbert, 1994). From there author shifts from descriptive account arguments to discussion about normative framework. Pointing out problems evaluative models mode, paradigmatic shift captured by Amenable Argumentation Approach is explained as way forward for advancement and argumentation.

A Comprehensive Approach to Argumentation
A reasoning model, based on the logic of argumentation, is described. The model represents argumentation as a directed graph in which nodes and arcs can be colored using an ordinal set of weightings and in which the attributes of both nodes and arcs can be modified. It is thus able to deal with the undercutting or augmenting of arguments. Weightings can be propagated through the graph to genera...
متن کاملProbabilistic Argumentation. An Equational Approach
There is a generic way to add any new feature to a system. It involves 1) identifying the basic units which build up the system and 2) introducing the new feature to each of these basic units. In the case where the system is argumentation and the feature is probabilistic we have the following. The basic units are: a. the nature of the arguments involved; b. the membership relation in the set S ...
متن کاملAmenable Groups
Throughout we let Γ be a discrete group. For f : Γ → C and each s ∈ Γ we define the left translation action by (s.f)(t) = f(s−1t). Definition 1.1. A group Γ is amenable is there exists a state μ on l∞(Γ) which is invariant under the left translation action: for all s ∈ Γ and f ∈ l∞(Γ), μ(s.f) = μ(f). Example 1.2. Finite groups are amenable: take the state which sends χ{s} to 1 |Γ| for each s ∈ ...
متن کاملCyber Attribution: An Argumentation-Based Approach
Attributing a cyber-operation through the use of multiple pieces of technical evidence (i.e., malware reverse-engineering and source tracking) and conventional intelligence sources (i.e., human or signals intelligence) is a difficult problem not only due to the effort required to obtain evidence, but the ease with which an adversary can plant false evidence. In this paper, we introduce a formal...
متن کاملMultiagent Inductive Learning: an Argumentation-based Approach
Multiagent Inductive Learning is the problem that groups of agents face when they want to perform inductive learning, but the data of interest is distributed among them. This paper focuses on concept learning, and presents A-MAIL, a framework for multiagent induction integrating ideas from inductive learning, case-based reasoning and argumentation. Argumentation is used as a communication frame...
